Level 5

Between the ages of four-and-a-half and seven years, the young child learns music best when he or she is actively engaged in making music. While the need for more concrete information and skill development is at hand, play remains the primary way the young child learns. Throughout this curriculum, there is a consistent effort to balance active learning that combines the feeling (affective) and reasoning (cognitive) aspects of the child's development. Kindermusik for the Young Child is not an end product of the Kindermusik experience, but rather a bridge between the music play of early childhood and the more formal musical experiences of the middle childhood years.
