    Busy Beats Music is seeking part time music educators to teach early childhood music and movement classes in Houston, TX area private and public preschools, early elementary, child care centers and after school programs. Training, curriculum, lesson plans and teaching support will be provided.

    Preferred candidates will have experience with young children, have a passion for teaching young children and their families, a playful approach and a desire to inspire a love of music. Rate is $25/hr with a guaranteed 3 hours/week. Potential to earn more depending on availability and schedule.

    Full Job Description

    Busy Beats Music is a Music & Movement community for children and their grownups. We provide a variety of classes for ages 0-7 yrs. Classes are provided both in studio and in local daycare/preschool environments.

    We are looking for a passionate Kindermusik Teacher to teach 3-5 Kindermusik Classes (student age range of 0-5yrs) a week. We are part educators/part entertainers…Edutainers! The ideal candidate will be passionate about music and early childhood development and love teaching both the little ones and their grownups. In addition, the ideal candidate will have a desire for both personal and professional growth and continued learning. Once hired, they must complete Kindermusik training and successfully obtain their Kindermusik Teacher license (training hours will be compensated at a non-productive training rate to be discussed before hire). Currently, the role requires 3-5 hours weekly of online training and 3 hours of in person training/assistant teaching hours. Once licensed, 1-2 hours of weekly prep and 3-5+ hours of weekly teaching time.

    This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants and/or needs part-time work in a positive environment with fair pay.

    Responsibilities

    Prepare and practice weekly Kindermusik lessons to ensure an excellent educational experience for our community.

    Set up for each class, preparing props and instruments, cleaning the classroom area, and ensuring it is a warm and welcoming classroom space prior to parents/children arriving.

    Warmly greet and connect with students and their parents. Must have a genuine delight in helping children learn and thrive.

    Efficiently manage time in classroom, ensuring a timely start and finish time for each class.

    Clean up after each class, sanitize instruments and ensure studio is left in good order.

    Communicate with owner on a weekly basis in regards to feedback, questions, ideas or just providing regular updates on how class is going. Essentially, stay connected to the owner in an organic way so we can ensure the experience is mutually successful and FUN (both for teacher and students).

    Maintain a high level of customer service and hospitality, treating the parents and children like VIPs (think Nordstrom customer service style).

    Participate in organization meetings from time to time.

    Other opportunities, tasks, and responsibilities as requested from time to time.

    Skills

    A background in either music or early childhood education is preferred.

    Experience as a parent of babies/toddlers is helpful but not required.

    Excellent communicability and interpersonal skills.

    High sense of responsibility and self-management (we do not believe in micro-management, we like to trust our team).

    Excellent people skills.

    Must be able to lift up to 20lbs from time to time (i.e boxes of props when prepping).

    Must be able to maintain a moderate to high level of physical activity (we crawl on the floor, jump, dance, twirl and stay on our feet for most of each class).

    MUST pass a background check.

    Must speak english fluently.

    Must have reliable transportation as you will be driving to different locations across Houston.

    Schedule

    In person training: Tuesdays 3pm-5:15pm, Thurs 3p-4:15pm (NW Houston location)

    Online training: self-paced

    Mon- Fri.: teaching schedule based on your availability but Mornings 9am-noon and afternoons 3pm-5pm preferred. (Cinco Ranch, NW Houston)

    Some occasional weekends for school/community events

    Job Types: Part-time, Contract
